Printing on Supercalendered paper

The special nature of the paper can reduce ink absorbency, meaning that binders in the ink migrate less slowly into the paper and the drying process is slowed.

Below are recommendations to help obtain the best results from this paper.

Use only inks that dry by oxidation.

Job design

Where the subject matter is 4 colours and of a dense nature, ‘under colour removal’ is recommended.

Damping should be maintained at the lowest possible level. Any excess damp will retard ink drying.

Anti set-off spray

It may be necessary to increase the amount or particle size of powder and run smaller stacks if the ink density is high.
