What to do when you have a complaint 

It is essential, when investigating a complaint, that the correct information is submitted to either the Finwood Papers representative or the mill representative.
This will include evidence of the product defect.  If the complaint is a debris problem please supply sellotape pulls and portions of or entire printing blanket/s.

AT ALL TIMES PLEASE SUPPLY PALLET/PACKET LABEL AND MAKING NUMBER.

Picking * edge dust * surface debris *Hickies *Blanket contamination
Please supply:

  • 20 printed and unprinted sheets
  • Remove debris from blanket/plate using sellotape and fix to clear film – please do not adhere to paper or itself.
  • Evidence of primary picks if possible

Paper stretch * Mis-register * Dot doubling.
Please supply:

  • 30 consecutive plain and printed sheets marked 1 – 30
  • Keep sample rolled or flat – do not fold

Delamination.
Please supply:

  • 20 printed sheets showing the fault
  • At least 5 unprinted sheets
  • Ink from the ink duct

Ink drying * Mottle * Ghosting * Pilling * Ink Rub.
Please supply:

  • 20 Printed and unprinted sheets
  • Printing ink from the ink duct
  • Sample of fount if possible from the printing machine
  • Colour sequence and ink name are important.

Blanket Damage
Please supply:

  • The sheet or matter that causes the problem, plus the following sheets.
  • The blanket showing the damaged area.

Surface blemishes * General poor quality. 
Please supply:

  • 10 to 20 sheets if possible showing the defect – not just one!
